As an Oxfordshire based artist working from my home studio, I mainly paint large atmospheric landscapes, embued with soft reflections and splashes of colour. My sense of landscape comes not from one specific place but from past travels and memories. Often with a river or water as a focal point my paintings take a journey into the mists.
I like to capture a sense of fantasy, finding a mysterious place where the two elements of water and earth come together. My work is drawn from imagination and I try with every finished canvas to create a scene where the colours and shapes can mean so many different things. The challenge I always set myself is to create an atmospheric painting which in turn along its progress can change several times. All my work is on canvas using acrylic paint that I build textures with as each layer is applied.
I studied at Croydon College of Art and pursued a career in graphic design for many years. After inspiring journeys travelling through Australia and South Africa absorbing the awe inspiring landscapes, I rekindled my love of painting and now feel I have completed a creative circle that has encompassed many different disciplines.
